Dramatic and beautiful pictures of massed starlings at Westhay appeared in the Guardian and the Daily Telegraph last week.
A
happened upon one aerobatic team yesterday while driving home near the
Peat Moor Centre (as was), and this evening my son and I went to look
for them again.
Their glory days are over for this winter, but
we did catch some lovely formation flying. Strangely, the Westhay Moor
wild life sanctuary was not the place to look for them; the people who came to the Westhay Moor car park were, like us, disappointed in the numbers of birds.. We shall make
another expedition in November, when they are expected in their
millions again.
