We had a good meeting today in the new council room in the Self-Help Centre in Crispin Hall. The room was fairly crowded with representatives of churches, voluntary groups, local government representatives and others.
Tea and cake greeted us - I took a biscuit instead - and that set the tone for a friendly meeting to encourage us to send details of our events to the Parish Council secretary, to join in a few whole-town (sorry, village) events like the Fun Day next June and a new event in the calendar, carol-singing round a civic Christmas tree outside the United Reformed Church in the High Street.
One very useful tip we took away with us was that the Tourist Information Centre in Clarks Village will display posters for any non-commercial event, and has a diary of the week's events which lots of people see. Note to self: take them a poster tomorrow for the Trafalgar celebration on Friday.
We all filled in a green sheet with our details. Nina joked that we would not be allowed to leave without handing it in. Loadsa work for the Parish Council secretary.
And there is the possibility that the Parish web site will actually have something on it soon!
