I see in the Central Somerset Gazette that our Parish Council is leasing space in Crispin Hall, room 20 in the Self-Help Centre, as an office and meeting room.

The paper says:

All future parish council meetings will take place at the centre, and Linda Ruff, the parish clerk, has already transferred to the new office.

The new phone number is (01458) 440588, although the e-mail address street.parish@ukonline.co.uk remains unchanged.

When we had that open meeting about the future of Crispin Hall - which as far as I know is still as undecided as ever - I thought that Crispin Hall was considered and rejected; but I suppose that everyone was thinking of the main hall after its planned make-over.

I wonder if some design genius can come up with a more fitting entrance to the Self Help Centre? The present one is functional, but looks a bit utilitarian. In fact, the whole area in front of the Self Help Centre could be planned so as to enhance that building. At the moment one could rush past on one's way from Leigh Road to Tesco and not notice our new civic centre.
