Clarks had their moment on BBC1 Watchdog this evening, among the dodgy tradesmen and crap telephone service suppliers. So what was their sordid secret? That they, the only firm to offer a special reduction to families with children who need shoes of different sizes for the two feet, had withdrawn the service in January - and restored it in March.


Breath a sign of relief. Clarks didn't come out as such villains after all. Although Watchdog claimed that their intervention was the straw that broke the camel's back, and caused Clarks to change their minds, they ended by saying thank you to the firm for restoring this service to children suffering from club feet.
