The Church of England churches of the immediate area are getting together for 6 sessions, each Wednesday between Ash Wednesday (1st March) and shortly before Easter (in fact, 5th April).

The theme is 'Voices of Today', and the aim is to find a Christian view of various media that bombard us nowadays.

After an introduction on March 1st in Shapwick Church, there will be a session on The Voice of the Media led by Revd Stephen Linas in the Mission Church, and then we move over to Street Parish Church on March 15th to hear Bishop Peter Price on Jazz.

The last three sesions are in the Mission Church:
  • An addiction to Soaps on 22nd March with Revd Joan Rowe
  • The language of Art on 29th March with Norman Parker
  • The images of Film on 5th April with John Greed

The following week, which is Holy Week, the special events are:
  • Jerusalem Joy, a musical, Palm Sunday 6 p.m. in the Parish Church
  • Passover celebration at 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday 13th April in the Parish Church.
(This is a united event for all Street churches.)
  • United Good Friday service and march.
