The local paper gave notice that there would be a programme on Radio 4 today about Rutland Boughton and the first Glastonbury Festivals, but didn't say what time it was. I remembered to turn to the Radio Times at lunchtime to see what time this evening I should listen, and found that it was just about to begin, at 1.30. A bit of luck.
It was a pleasant programme, with Ian Boughton and that composer who has written Rutland's biography (forgotten his name - senior moment!), and with Liz Leyshon from the Strode Theatre talking to Paul Branson as someone very involved with the Assembly Rooms in the past, and with Glastonbury Arts in the present.
If you are now wishing you had heard it, you still can, by going to this page and scrolling down to First Glastonbury Festival. Then click on 'LISTEN'.
I don't know how long it will be available - at least a week, I guess.
